4/27/2023: SUMMER SCHOOL 2023 UPDATE ~ Due to the ongoing construction project for our building, Long Island City High School will be closed over the Summer of 2023. Summer programs, including classes for students who need to make up credits, will instead be taking place at the Academy of American Studies. We encourage all students to take advantage of the Tutoring Options (click for more info) available during the school year now rather than need to make-up work over the summer.

3/30/2023: On Monday, April 3, 2023 LICHS is excited to offer two opportunities for parents of current students to meet with and talk to the Principal, Vivian Selenikas. From 7:30 AM - 9:00 AM, we will be offering Breakfast with the Principal. Starting at 4:30 PM we will be having our April PA Meeting. 3/28/2023: Your School. Your Child. Your Voice. In an effort to increase family, student, and teacher responses for the 2023 NYC School Survey, the DOE has extended the deadline to administer the survey to April 20 (extended from March 31). There's still time to make your voice heard! Parents and guardians are asked to take a moment to fill out the NYC School Survey. Please see the 2023 School Survey Page for more information. Eligible students who did not fill out their surveys in class on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, can still access and complete their survey online.

10/25/2022: The NYC Department of Education is once again implementing a strengths-based screener to enable educators to build upon student's social emotional strengths while identifying skills that need further development. 10/14/2022: Please join us for the Virtual Parent Association (PA) meeting on Monday, October 17th at 5:30pm. The Parent Association Board has an open position if parents are interested. There will also be a Title 1 and mandated reporting presentation for parents. We would appreciate your feedback to provide workshops and resources that meet your needs by completing the survey below:

10/11/2022: On Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 11:00 AM we will have a virtual parent meeting to discuss the discipline code and how it affects students. 09/23/2022: The Residency Questionnnaire (PDF) is intended to address the McKinney-Vento Act 42 U.S.C. 11435, and must be completed for each student. The information you provide is confidential. Your child will not be discriminated against based upon the information provided. You may submit the completed form to Ms. Downing in room 110 or emailed to cdownin@schools.nyc.gov.
