Welcome to School Year 2023-2024

Here’s to a new school year and welcome to Long Island City High School, your child’s home away from home for the next four years. Our names are Awatef Ibrahim and Rosemary Liz, your Parent Coordinators. We are here to provide parents’ access to the community within the school. Long Island City High School is an excellent school environment for your children, as the staff is very dedicated and committed in helping students grow to achieve their full academic potential.

As Parent Coordinators, pur main objectives are to encourage parent involvement in the education system. You, as a parent or guardian, have the right to voice concerns, needs and ideas pertaining to your child’s education and well-being while in school. We welcome all of your suggestions and points of view so that together we can help our children thrive. Your involvement in your child’s education and support are essential to the success that lies ahead.

Parents and guardians are kept informed of events and activities by methods such as, monthly Parent Association meetings, workshops, emails, phone messenger calls, our school website at longislandcityhs.schoolwires.net, and our parent newsletter, which is mailed out every other month.
